Well if you have used the release candidate for windows 7, then like me you may have been excited to see all the new features and pretty interface. You may have been impressed by how responsive it was, and how it recognized all the drivers! But after some time, and loading all you programs, a couple hundred music downloads, and maybe playing some games here and there.. things start to change. Well at least for me they did. Now my browser keep crashing, it doesn't recognize my internet connection all the time, and the interface still is some what of a resource hog. Its just really now starting to piss me off! Nice try Microsoft... almost got it, leaps and bounds better then vista, but xp 64 bit still wins this one i think...
You're surprised that the newest Windows is a resource hog? Unfortunately resource management is one area that Microsoft seems to continually fail. Windows XP Pro & 64 Pro are two of the only platforms that don't (entirely) eat up all of your RAM and virtual memory. It's a shame...
ReplyDeleteI have to agree, i noticed a big performance drcrease when im playing one of my games for example, even on windows 7 basic graphics mode the frame rates drop considerable, it almost takes the fun out, now its forcing me to upgrade my hardware when i have a pretty decient system already!
ReplyDeleteOk so far ive had NO problems with windows 7 except for the RESOURCE HOG. On xp i coudl easily run a movie and two instances of World of Warcraft(on high graphics) and see no lag at all.. With windows 7 if i run wow it eats up my entire system and ive even got allt he graphics and performance set to the lowest i could.. So there are some things that need to be fixed.. And so far it looks like a viable OS that will easily compare to XP.
